Mickey Middleton

MICKEY MIDDLETON ~ Mickey (who writes under the pen names Mickey MorningGlory, Michelle Busby, and M.M. Busby) writes children's books under her maiden name. She is a former teacher, singer/songwriter, and storyteller, as well as a member of Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), Sisters in Crime (SinC), Women's Fiction Writers Association (WFWA), National Association of Independent Writers and Editors (NAIWE), and American Copy Editors Society (ACES).  Her SMALL TAILS OF TRUE LOVE rhyming picture books for children are inspired by nature around her Northwest Florida home and the small creatures that visit her writing studio in the woods.

Mickey's SMALL TAILS OF TRUE LOVE picture books feature animals and other creatures in nature who overcome obstacles while displaying positive morals and values. All stories are written in rhyming verse and are filled with colorful images. JR, PTR, GR

THE BEAUTIFUL ONE ~ When the King goes in search of the most beautiful one to sit as the centerpiece for his royal banquet, all the plants and animals of the forest boast of their glorious colors saying, "I'll be the one." Poor pale Pumpkin learns the meaning of a greater love when ugly Field Mouse sacrifices himself for her happiness. As Mother Nature says, "Pretty is as pretty does. It's only deep as skin. It isn't what your eyes can see. True beauty lies within."

WHERE PARADISE LIES ~ The colorful spectrum of the rainbow is displayed in nature all around us. The book answers a child's questions, "Where in the world does Paradise lie? Is it visible to the naked eye? Is it far away, or perhaps nearby? And where, oh, where am I?"

THE MA'AM ~ "The room was filled with women of all colors, shapes, and sizes. They all were something special, but the children were the prizes. The children just ignored them and scarcely gave a look, but walked directly to 'the Ma'am' and handed her a book." This story celebrates the many women and girls who demonstrate love by reading to children.
